Paid for treatment abroad? Support with your reimbursement documents
We help organise hospital invoices, proof of payment and insurance correspondence into a clear reimbursement file, with a particular focus on treatment in Türkiye and insurance in Germany.
Cost approval and reimbursement are separate processes
Before planned treatment, you need to clarify your insurance cover and any approval required. After paying for treatment yourself, the question is whether your insurer can reimburse any of the expense and how much. Paying an invoice does not itself establish entitlement or guarantee reimbursement.
How we help prepare your file
We organise your documents, compare them with the insurer’s requests and help prepare clear correspondence. This can include a timeline of treatment dates, a list of documents already submitted and a record of outstanding questions. We agree the language, format and scope of any translations with you. Your insurer makes the reimbursement decision.
You have already paid
We sort itemised invoices, receipts and previous correspondence. A checklist identifies missing documents before you submit additional material.
Your insurer has questions
We help prepare a factual enquiry about receipt of the application, missing evidence or further requirements. We cannot guarantee payment or a processing deadline.
Documents commonly needed
- An itemised invoice showing services and treatment dates.
- Proof of payment or a receipted invoice.
- Insurance documents and any previous approval.
- Correspondence with your insurer, hospital or the SGK.
- Medical evidence and translations only to the extent requested.
The receiving organisation determines the final requirements. Keep original documents and check before sending originals away.
Important distinctions for treatment in Türkiye
German statutory insurance, private insurance and travel health insurance have different conditions. A temporary visit and permanent residence also require separate consideration. Private treatment and additional hospital charges can leave you with personal expenses. For travel treatment in Türkiye, ask your insurer which entitlement certificate you need; the EHIC is not the appropriate document there.

- We agree the documents needed, a suitable transfer method and our fee.
- After you commission the service, we prepare the agreed file and correspondence.
This service is quoted separately and is not automatically included in our pension packages. We provide document and language assistance, rather than medical treatment or legal representation. If you receive a refusal with an appeal deadline, seek appropriately authorised legal help promptly.
