Moving to Türkiye with a German pension: Prepare address and bank changes
Organise German pension correspondence, your new Turkish address and bank-change paperwork before or after moving to Türkiye.
Treat your residence address, pension case and payment account as separate tasks. Mail forwarding or deregistration in Germany does not replace notifying the responsible pension payment service.
Create one clear change record
Record the date your new address applies, which pension payments are affected and whether the existing account will remain open. Keep earlier notices and confirmations. A new address is not a new bank instruction
The Renten Service keeps payment records for ongoing German pensions. A foreign bank account requires the appropriate payment declaration; select the form matching your residence and account situation. Clarify the change process early before closing an existing account. Updating an address does not itself update the bank details, and notifying one institution does not automatically update every other institution.
Prepare the supporting record
Gather the moving date, old and new addresses, relevant letters and any acknowledgement already received. Keep full banking information for the agreed secure document channel, rather than an initial message.
