What should happen first?

Call 112 in Türkiye and also inform the police or gendarmerie about a road accident. Request an official accident report. Paperwork must not delay medical treatment.

Which records should I keep?

Retain the accident report, admission record, medical reports, invoices, identity documents, policy details and correspondence. Note the clinic, dates and contacts.

Who decides whether costs are covered?

Different rules may apply to SGK, vehicle liability insurance or a private policy. The German Foreign Office guidance explains specific conditions in Türkiye. The relevant institution decides your individual case.
