Receiving a German pension in Türkiye: Application and records
Living in Türkiye does not by itself rule out receiving a German pension. The pension institution determines individual entitlement, amount and payment conditions.
Can a German pension be paid abroad?
The German Pension Insurance publishes guidance about pension payments abroad. Individual entitlement and the amount payable depend on the circumstances and are determined by the institution. Do not rely on an estimated amount as a final decision.
How do I start from Türkiye?
Contact the competent pension institution where you reside and list periods insured in Germany, Türkiye and any other country. A German pension requires an application. Keep your address details current with the authority.
What records help?
Prepare your German insurance number and record, Turkish service history, identification and earlier decisions or letters. List missing periods and name discrepancies. The authority may request additional information.
